St Andrew

A friend, Tom Martin, who is a photographer (http://www.martinandmartin.eu/blog/), posted a great picture of someone called Fleabag he took somewhere along the coast. Fleabag had stunning tattoos and was the perfect St Andrew (who was a fisherman). Tom said I could based a painting on Fleabag, so I used the stance and tattoos, changed the face a bit, extended the stance into a more visible St Andrew Cross, and as I was looking at the Cul de Four in Marseilles's basilica at the time, I added decorations inspired by that.
This is on gesso board, in oil about 8 x 8 inches.

This one was shown in the New English Art Club show 2012.
